Climate change<\/strong> is one of the most critical challenges facing humanity today. Direct Air Capture <\/strong>(DAC)<\/em> is presented as a promising technology to address this problem by capturing carbon dioxide (CO\u2082) directly from the environment. <\/p>\n

Technology Description and Purpose<\/strong><\/h2>\n

La DAC<\/strong> es una tecnolog\u00eda para la reducci\u00f3n de gases que podr\u00eda remover el CO\u2082<\/em> y otros gases de efecto invernadero de la atm\u00f3sfera terrestre a gran escala. En estas propuestas, el carbono se almacena en el subsuelo a trav\u00e9s de la captura y almacenamiento de carbono<\/strong> (CCS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s<\/em>) o en productos de diversa duraci\u00f3n, con las t\u00e9cnicas de captura, uso y almacenamiento de carbono<\/strong> (CCUS, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s<\/em>). <\/p>\n

Los enfoques de Captura Directa del Aire (DAC)<\/strong> utilizan reacciones qu\u00edmicas para separar el CO\u2082<\/em> del aire de entrada, empleando sustancias que act\u00faan como un filtro selectivo de CO\u2082<\/em>.
