At EDIBON, we are proud to have recently organized, in collaboration with CSIC, the presentation of our Pilot Plant for Biomass Fractionation and Furfural Production (EDIBONFRACTION/CSIC). This milestone event reflects our commitment to fostering applied research and technological innovation in the field of biomass and renewable resources.
The event gathered approximately 40 participants from a variety of scientific institutions across Spain, creating an ideal environment for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices. Attendees had the opportunity to observe the pilot plant in operation, gaining insight into the processes involved in biomass fractionation and the production of furfural—a high-value chemical derived from renewable resources.
Through this pilot plant, EDIBON and CSIC aim to demonstrate how applied research and state-of-the-art technology can work hand-in-hand to advance sustainable solutions and bio-based innovations. The initiative also highlights the potential of biomass as a versatile raw material, capable of being transformed into valuable products that contribute to the circular economy and sustainable industrial processes.
